Things to Pack for Students Going Away for College

It's that time of year again... Students getting ready to leave home and go away for college to pursue and embark on a new adventure like no other!

As an experienced student entering her fourth and final year of college, here are a list of things for new students getting ready at this busy time of year:

- clothes (plenty of socks, undies, and towels so you don't find yourself doing laundry on a weekly basis)

- dresy clothes for formals, banquets, and other fancy dinners

- work out clothes and shoes

- bathing suits

- jackets, coats, and other winter accessories

- rainwear including umbrella

- slippers, flipflops for walking around residences and dorms

- headphones, mp3, ipod

- cell phone charges

- desk lamp and any additional lighting

- extension cords

- fan/heater

- hair dryer

- mini fridige

- stacking containers and boxes

- paper towels

- sewing kits, scissors, safety pins

- message board for your door

- bathrobe

- soap, shampoo, razors, shaving cream, facial tissues, toilet paper

- laundry basket, detergent, softener, dryer sheets

- dishwash soap

- first aid kid

- tylenol

- laptop

- blank CDs, usb, and mouse

- binders, folders, duotangs

- writing untesils

- backpack

- calculator

- agenda

- snacks

- key ring or lanyard for residence keys and student card

- flashlight

- calling card or phone card or cellphones

- debit card or credit card

- some CASH!!!! Orientation weeks requires a bit of cash for fun and booze!

- AN ALARM CLOCK!

Here's a tip - set your alarm clock before you go out for a heavy night of drinking and partying so you don't have to worry about setting it when you come back to residence completely drunk and wasted from drinking too much greygoose.
