Sponsored a Child in Ethiopia - Part II

So, last time I wrote... I shared with all you Human Times writers out there that I sponsored a little boy named Adane in Ethiopia.
In the mail last week, I received a letter from Children Christian Fund and on the envelope in big bold writing it read: DROUGHT IN ETHIOPIA: SPONSORED CHILD AFFECTED!
My heart skipped a beat when I read the front of that envelope because I didn't know what to expect. Did Adane get hurt? Is his family (mother) alright? Trouble in the community?
As I read the letter - I was informed that there is a major drought in Ethiopia and that many many people including Adane are affected. The next harvest isn't until November so this concerns many people. I did my research online and the UN is also taking active part in this serous matter.
The envelope inside consisted of another pledge fund to help with this specific matter. 20$ will feed one child for a month and 100$ will feed a family of five for one month. I'm a student with many other financial obligations so I reached out to my parents and younger brother to help me out with this one. They agreed to send $100 to Christian Children Fund for this emergency relief.
Now, I don't know exactly where the money is going to go to... Whether it's going to go specifically to Adane or to other members in his community but I just hope and pray that the development/well-being of Adane and other young children is not significantly challenged. I will be receiving a progress report about how this money is being used in the next couple of weeks so I will update you on this information most definitely.
Therefore, I urge all my fellow Human Times friends... If you have it in your heart to make a small or big financial contribution to the things going on in Ethiopia or if you would like to sponsor a child, I ask that you do so with a lot of thought and do so immediately. There are millions of children out there in the world that need your help - we can rise up to this challenge and help win this war - one battle at a time - one child at a time.
If you have any questions, send me HMail or leave me a comment.
I thank you for taking the time to read this story/article that is so close to my heart.
