BODY PAIN: HOW TO RELEASE EMBEDDED MEMORIES AND EMOTIONS

I figured out how to let go of my lower back pain.

I had been hearing that, theoretically, a large percentage of back pain (and other body pains) is psychological. I now believe that many of these pains in your body come from embedded memories and unreleased emotions. We need to let them out. And it's easier than you think.

TRAPPING PAIN: Before we talk about how you might get rid of your pain, first think about this: what happens when you feel pain or unpleasant emotion in your body? You don't like it and you want it to go away. You label it as bad, and you resist it—keep it "in its place". You don't want to "listen" to it. That's how pains and unpleasant emotions get trapped in your body. The energy can't be released, so it never leaves your body.

Here's a new way to treat those pains and emotions: give them what they want. Let them have center stage, give them the spotlight, and let them scream and yell to their heart's content. Like everyone else, they want to be heard. Then they'll stop bothering you.

THE TECHNIQUE: This is how I do it: When I feel the pain, I'll lie down. I let it do anything it wants. First, I'll feel the pain for just a few moments, but it has no barriers to beat against. It feels kind of good, letting it go. It runs around in its new expanded territory, maybe yelling and screaming. It starts to run over me like waves, but it no longer feels like pain. I'm very careful not to resist it. I let myself feel it fully. Then it exits my body.

Another very important thing: while this pain is running around in your body, don't try to define it, or give it any meaning or labels. If you do, you will trap it again, embedding it back into your body. Just let it go! Just be a sympathetic listener.

If you're older, you're going to have a lot more of these embedded memories and emotions. Unfortunately, this means you have more work to do.

Also know this: at the site where you have body pain, you almost certainly have more than one embedded memory/pain. So this means that your lower back pain, for example, will not go away after letting go of just one measly pain. This does mean that, in this example, your lower back is the site where you probably stuffed all those other "bad" memories and emotions. Hopefully, not too many. It took me about 20 of these releases before my back stopped clenching and keeping me awake at night.

What's wonderful about this technique: this usually only takes a few minutes, and it costs nothing. Please, though, don't be stingy with your time. On several occasions, I gave center stage to these energy entities for about 10-15 minutes.

AT NIGHT: I usually feel the pain and tension mostly at night. The tightness and rigidity won't let me sleep, so I have to release it. So I give it the spotlight, expose the pain, letting the pain come alive and "perform". I relax. I don't resist it/deny it, so it has nothing to push against/fight with. In fact, I respect it and let it know it's okay to be there. I let it be heard. If it has a lot of screaming and yelling, I tell it "you go, girl! You deserve to be ***** off! You deserve to be heard!" When finished, that energy entity, a very happy customer, is able to relax and exit the body.

MEMORIES: Sometimes a memory will surface while you're releasing a pain. If so, let it be. Don't attach to it. If it's a memory that haunts you, though, rethink it so you can let go. Forgive yourself or others. Like Eckhart Tolle says, forgiving isn't saying it's okay for someone to do that terrible thing to you; it's more like saying that someone no longer has any effect on who you are right now. You're letting go.

CREDITS: I first got these ideas after seeing a bodyworker named Elke and reading one of Eckhart Tolle's books. Elke showed me how memories and emotions that are trapped in your body can cause pain. Eckhart gave instructions on moving your consciousness into an area of your body that has pain. He also talks about pain and emotion as "energies", and how to let them go.
