The World Music Awards winners

British band Coldplay were crowned the world's top selling recording act of 2008 at the World Music Awards in Monaco.

Their last album 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends,' topped the charts in many countries including, the United States, Britain, Japan, Germany and France.

Coldplay were also named best Rock Group.
