Estelle conquers MOBO’s

Estelle and Leona Lewis came out on top at the MOBO awards last night. The London pair bagged four prizes between them as Estelle claimed best UK female and best song, American Boy, her collaboration with Kanye West. The London soul singer has found massive success since signing with John Legend and got her rewards for her huge success.

Leona Lewis bagged best album and best video confirming her popularity and the most successful artist to come out of reality show X Factor. It wasn’t all good news for Leona as she was booed by the audience for not attending the awards.

The awards which celebrate British urban music were presented by hip hop legend Rev Run and Spice Girl Mel B who presented a number of British artists with awards on a night that highlighted the talent that currently reside in the UK.

Dizzee Rascal picked up best UK male for the second year running, this was largely down to the success of his massive summer anthem Dance Wiv Me, featuring Calvin Harris.

Other winners on the night included Chris Brown who won Best International Act and Best R&B and soul performer. The young singer has had a fantastic year as has Best Hip Hop artist Lil’ Wayne.

The night featured some brilliant performances from some of England’s finest talent, R&B singers Craig David and Taio Cruz wowed the crowd as did American rapper Flo Rida.
