Music evolutions two-step

    The hunt is on for the new medium in which record companies can make up for lost revenue since the creation of downloadable music. Some are looking to embrace the beast, working with companies using USB based flash drives. It seems like music albums next evolution will have so many new goodies. To persuade listeners to buy a physical medium rather than download the songs, the record companies will offer extras including liner notes, album art, videos, and "other creative content that an artist may choose". Music tracks will also be played back at up to 320K bps.

Some experts think that download services like Nokia's Comes With Music and Orange Music Max will be more viable alternatives to going into stores to purchase music. 

What ever happened to the glory days of going into a record store and buying some vinyl records?   

Even getting a tape or CD seems like nostalgic footnote. Where do we point the finger? On ourselves as consumers or the companies that manufactured the technology? Its hard to say who
