Mourad : a beautiful take off

In France, he is a newcomer singer. No label and no CD of him can be found in the shops. But by visiting his official myspace site, incredible to have the fact that his on-line site has not less than 5000 visitors each day! And his online songs are listening by at least 4000 peoples each day.  The achievement that rarely perform by other talented newcomers. This score are normally happens to the bigger and more popular artists. More than that, he is getting popularity in Russia. His concert in several cities of Russia such as Saratov, Moscow, Kurgan and many other are always flooded by fans.

Talked with him last week I was curious to understand how he can have a big number of online fans and well accepted in Russia. Trigger by these facts I set up an interview. Our face to face meeting has brought me to discover his remarkable fighting spirit and experiences. He is unique.

Mourad, a French singer from Tunisian root, has only one dream and goal in his life, a star. He wants to be a popular singer. He loves music, he loves to sing, he loves to meet peoples. He knew what he wanted since he was kid. He realized he has no friend in the music business. Still this fact did not melt his passion and dream. “I have no choices; I have no passion to any other profession like what I have to the music. I know my capacity and I have been working hard to make it work. I have to try”

He told me then all his struggles to obtain his dream. He started his career since almost 20 years ago. Leaded by his passion he dedicated his life by learning music composition, writing songs and technique vocal. Unfortunately the luck was not come easily. He has ever passed bitter period where he has no money, jobless, and even homeless. “as far as I could remember, I’ve never been unhappy. Although in that period of my life was very hard and difficult, I always has a happy feeling. I enjoyed my free life, met some nice peoples and I continued write my songs and sang”

Then how could he get over his difficult times? “I am a very patient person. I’ve been working hard; I open my mind and heart to everybody. I give attention to my fans and respect them. And they love me the way I am. So time after time I obtained loyal listeners”

After having appeared in many stages and many cities in France as opening singer to the shows of some France and international famous singers (Natacha St Pier, Boney M, etc), the luck come to him. Mai 2006 he has his first tour in Russia, in OREL and KURGAN. He won great success singing in front of Russia public. The second tour was arranged in August 2006, in OREL he sang in front of 30,000 persons. By December the same year he did another tour to Kremlin, Moscow, Saratov, Nijni Novgorod, his concerts were sold out. He obtained an appreciation award as honour to his dedication to the music this year in Kremlin .

Mai 2007, accompanied by Naseir Chehida (composer and arranger) in guitar and Eddy Nopre in Drum, Mourad again made some tour across Russia. Moscow, Togliatti, Samara, Tumen, Ekaterinburg, Saratov and other cities, he has again achieved a great success. “Russia public loves original artist, I sang French songs, and languages was not a problem, it wasn’t a barrier at all.”

Mourad is sure his time will come. He is as always consistently believe to his choice, he will sing and pursuing his way as a singer. He still a newcomer in France, but as he said his time will come.
