Why We All Love A Good Celebrity Scandal

1. If everyone is talking about the latest celebrity scandal; nobody noticing the stupid stuff you are doing.

2. Celebrities are super beautiful, super rich, and always having sex with other super beautiful people. Essentially, they have the lives we wish we had; while we spend our lives watching TV with the cat. It shouldn’t, but it makes us feel better when the super great have a super bad day.

3. Our lives are dull; our friends and relatives lives are dull. We need something to talk about, other than the weather, something!

4. Gives us something to occupy our minds while waiting in the long line ups in the grocery store. From the time I could read, I realized reading the dirt in the gossip rags makes the line seem shorter. If you are really stuck in gridlock, you can always turn to your neighbor and say, “Do you really believe that story about JLo have a passionate love affair with some alien from the planet XL20?” Before you know it, you are next to check out.

5. Let’s face it, we are nosey jerks. The thing is, if we stick our noises into the lives of people around us, we will either, a) die of boredom or b) create unnecessary conflict in our lives with people we have to live with day in and day out. It just so much easier to satisfy our noisy needs by participating in celebrity gossip. I mean really, is Britney going to come to your house and threaten you with an umbrella?
