An American in Southeast Asia--Introduction

Hello there! A couple of months back, two friends and I went to Southeast Asia. I did some private blogging about it at the time, but will now be uploading those entries onto the HumanTimes site for anyone to see.
By way of introduction, let me give you a few generalities: During the trip, we visited Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. We were only gone for five weeks so, as you can imagine, we were very rushed and didn't get to see everything. A little about us, personally: We're all in our mid-twenties, and grew up in California. We've known each other for years, and each love to travel. (Between the three of us, we've gone across the US twice, once across Canada, gone through Europe, Central America, New Zealand, Jamaica, Israel, and Alaska, not to mention many shorter trips to particular US destinations.) Here are a few things you can read more about if you stay up on the series: We plunged through Hong Kong in the heavy rain, we scoured the markets in Bangkok, a ferry we were riding ran aground, we stumbled through many of the Temples of Angkor, we motorbiked our way across Laos, we enjoyed some Vietnamese beaches (and tailoring!), we had a fight with an airline, we went on some agonizing bus rides, and we played a hell of a lot of Gin Rummy.
Hmm...I can think of other things to say, but it seems that they would just be superfluous. So let's do this: If anyone has any questions about the three of us, or the trip itself, just leave a comment and I'll give a response.
With that aside, I hope you enjoy reading about the trip.
