Mac or PC?

Over the past several years, Apple has made a huge comeback on their products and market positioning.  As a consumer,  I am standing on the fence trying to decide which operating system (Mac or PC) I should purchase next.  Feedback I have received from my family and friends have been quite positive for the Apple branded computers...However, I have been brought up using the PC.  Bill Gates has made his fortunes from people like me.  The transition from one OS to another is one hurdle I'm struggling with.  I have read many blogs and reviews on Apple computers and it appears as though they are much simplier to use than the PC.  Has anyone else transitioned from one OS to another?
