Asus eee pc - has anyone had any experience with this?

This device looks like a great little machine that fills in the gap between a full-on laptop and a pda, while being affordable at the same time.  Basic word processing/spreadsheet/presentation/email/browser software, but none of the bells and whistles that a casual user would need on the go, particularly if you have all that already on your home or work computer.  Has anyone had any direct experience with it?  Any quals about it being run on linux rather than something a little more familiar (windows?)
