Many Uses For A Hockey Stick

To my utter dismay, I realized I had locked my keys in my car at the LCBO on Saturday. I  was running errands, and needed to pick up a bottle of wine for a friend's party. My greatest stress in the whole situation was that I could be late in picking up my son at a scheduled activity.

As I stood around calculating my next plan of action, I noted that my windows were slightly ajar. I also noted two friendly looking men sitting on the back of their pick up truck. They appeared to be there due to their sons. Their sons were selling raffle tickets for the Ajax-Pickering Raiders, a hockey team in this area. I asked the kind looking gentlemen if they could assist me in my obvious demise. They answered that they certainly could help me out.

These two heros used a hockey stick, went through the opening in my window, and promply opened my door lock without fail. I was relieved and grateful. It's nice to know that true good samaritins are around. They have no idea what a great help it was to me.

I found out from the young boys that they were fundraising for a trip to Europe. Of course I supported them by buying some raffle tickets, and by letting them know just how lucky  they were to have great mentors in their lives.

It's a wonderful feeling when others help you in times of need. However, it is much more wonderful to help others in need.
