On The Street Where I Live

journey54 2008-08-20 02:08:04

Help. Yes that is my plea. After living in my neighborhood for 10 years, I just got new neighbors.  Now don't get me wrong, we live in America and we all have our rights.  But why is it that when people move out of their home and decide to rent it out, the never take into consideration the people they are leaving to deal with the new tenants.

Well I shouldn't say everybody is like that, but the people who left me and my family to content with our new neighbors never thought once about it.

All of a sudden, I have to close all my blinds, pretend that I am not about to blow a fuse when I see them walking on my lawn and setting on the wall to my yard.  Why dint I say anything you may ask?

Talking would only make matters worse.  Why is it that we have to accept anyone who moves next door to us.  Now I am not prejudice against race or color, but what I am prejudice against in neighbors who do not consider your feeling or respect  your privacy.

Where do you draw the line?

Wouldn't it be nice that when a person moved into our neighborhood's we would have a chance to interview them along with the people leasing out the property, since we will be spending more time with them then their new landlords?

I feel like I am now living in prison.

Why should I have to be disrespectful to them because they are so disrespectful to everyone on our street?  Why have me and my family be thrown into a situation that is uncomfortable and whether time consuming?  Why time consuming you may ask?

Well, I now have to spend more time making sure that my family is safe. Making sure that I dint get on the same level that they are on and making sure that I am considerate when and if I sell my property.

If only people would respect the people around them, I am sure there would be less racial profiling and less division among mankind.

So all of you that have good neighbors'; appreciate them, live peacefully with them and that when and if they move that they would be considerate of you.

I am on this journey at 54
